Post-rock has been one of the more interesting, unpredictable, and hard to define genres I’ve discovered. It’s a more experimental form of rock, focusing more on timbre, texture, and atmosphere than the traditional riffs and choruses. Post-rock is often (but not always) instrumental and tends to focus on musical buildups and atmosphere rather than catchy hooks to sing along to. It’s common for songs in this genre to be very long — upwards of 20 to 30 minutes in some cases.
